Фармакогнозия

Pharmacognosy is the study of medicines or crude drugs produced from natural sources such as plants, microbes, and animals. It includes the analysis of their biological, chemical, biochemical, and physical properties. It is considered the oldest branch of pharmacy. The word "pharmacognosy" is derived from the Greek words "pharmakon" (drug) and "gnosis" (knowledge), essentially meaning "knowledge of drugs".
